Meni zelo dober predmet, ker temo kriptografije razloži zelo jasno in zanimivo. Na predavanja lahko hodiš ali pa ne, mogoče je na prva pametno, da vidiš kako zgledajo. Snov ni tako zelo težka, pa tudi na kolokvijih (ne vem za izpit) ni bilo treba znati ne vem kakšnih podrobnosti pa enih čudnih enačb, v večini so bile kar osnovne stvari od predavanj in vse je tudi na powerpointih, kar je zelo koristno, ker ti ni treba med predavanji neki pisat, pa tudi doma si lahko prebereš, če se ti ne da na predavanja. Vaje so pa tudi kar zanimive, niso tako zelo težke te tedenske naloge, edino kdaj so nejasna navodila, je pa res da, na drugo polovico vaj nisem hodil, ker se mi je časovno bolj splačalo samo doma narediti, ker dobiš kar dobra navodila v datoteki za vaje. Na splošno zelo predlagam predmet, če te zanima kriptografija in varnost, ker zelo dobro razloži teme.

Meni najboljši predmet v prvem semestru. Profesor Jelenc zelo zanimivo predava, tudi snov je bila meni zelo všeč. Žačne se s pregledom zgodovinskih šifer, potem simetrična kriptografija in na koncu še asimetrična. Predmet mogoče izgleda nekoliko bolj matematičen, saj so za vse šifre matematične definicije, a v resnici se tega nikjer ne preverja. Za pisna kolokvija (ali pa izpit - lahko se nadomesti z dvema kolokvijema) je kar veliko teorije, a se da priti čez kar hitro (profesorjeva skripta ima napisano gor vse). Na programerskih kolokvijih pa je večinoma copy-pastanje delov vaj. Vaje so kar zanimive, a večinoma kar lahke.

TLDR: Hard but very much doable. If you have interest or experience in cryptography - 4.5/5, if not - 2/5 Intro to cryptography, from the basics to authenticated key exchange protocols. The professor explains it well, but the subject matter is pretty complex and IMO requires active weekly participation in both labs and lectures. Homework is pretty straightforward (2-5 guided programming assignments) and if you set aside 2 hours a week for it you can meet the minimum reqs (you don't really have to do everything, he'll probably accept even 40% of the assigments). 12 HW assigments, 10 is the minimum requirement. Very much recommend doing as much of them as possible (even after the deadline / in preparation for the exam) because you can paste all the code you need from them into the exam/midterm programming assignments. Exams are part theory (no literature allowed) part programming (literature and internet allowed, no ChatGPT tho). The sum has to be over 50% of points (the individual parts don't have to be 50% though). Theory is pretty basic questions about stuff from the slides and the programming part is one or two assignments that are basically (at least in my experience) copypasting from the literature/homework (you do have to know what you're doing a little though :D). Oral exam is also basic theory questions. In my experience he was kinda chill (asked me what my favorite part was and then asked questions about that). Very interesting subject for those interested in cryptography, but I definitely would not recommend it to anyone not explicitly looking for such a course.
